Why look at your plumbing every year in the Pee Dee?
Many Pee Dee homes were built before 1980, and Florence sees about 40 freezing nights a year. Census figures (ACS 2020–2024 5-year) show the share built before 1980:
- City of Florence: 46.7%
- Darlington: 68.7%
- Hartsville: 51.5%
- Manning: 50.5%
- Timmonsville: 56.9%
Florence averages about 40 nights a year at 32 degrees or lower (NOAA 1991–2020 normals).
On Christmas Day 2022, a water main broke in the City of Florence. Pipes leaked in homes, businesses and sprinkler systems. The city lost at least 20 million gallons.
On the yearly visit, your tech will check your plumbing and tell you what they find. Then you can plan repairs instead of rushing them.
