What does Quality Service Company work on?
HVAC, plumbing, electrical and generators. One company, one number.
HVAC
Florence averages about 70 days a year at 90 degrees or higher. July nights only drop to about 72, so the house never gets a break. When your AC can’t keep up, your tech finds the cause and explains why.
Plumbing
Leaks, clogs, sewer lines and water heaters, tank or tankless. In the City of Florence, 46.7% of homes were built before 1980 (Census). Your plumber tells you what’s wrong and gives you options.
Water Treatment
City of Florence water is about 60% well water and 40% Pee Dee River water (2024 city water report). We install Halo whole-house systems and water softeners. Your tech explains your options before you decide.
Electrical
Panel and service upgrades, circuit repairs, and checks before you add a big new load. In the City of Darlington, 68.7% of homes were built before 1980 (Census). Your electrician looks at the panel first, because it decides what you can add.
Generators
Generac standby generator installation, repair and maintenance. Hurricane Matthew in 2016 knocked out power to 866,000 South Carolina households (SC State Climate Office). Your tech helps you size a generator for what your household needs to keep running.
Do you work on businesses, too?
Yes, we handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical and generators for local businesses, with service agreements and planned maintenance. Health care is the Pee Dee’s largest job sector, and warehousing is growing fastest (SC Department of Employment and Workforce, 2022 to 2032). Buildings like these need steady cooling, water and power.

Why keep your system on a maintenance plan?
A membership puts your system on a maintenance schedule.
In a normal Florence year, heating and cooling needs are about equal (NOAA). Cooling runs hard from May through September. Heating runs from November through March.

Short, plain-language guides to the problems we fix most often, written for Pee Dee homes.
Should I repair or replace?
We'll show you both numbers and let you decide.
How do I know my water heater is going?
Age over 10 to 12 years, rust-colored hot water, popping or rumbling from the tank, or running out of hot water sooner than you used to.
Why is my water brown?
Iron in the water is common here.
Is your home ready before the storm?
A ready home has a generator plan, a transfer switch and working CO alarms before the first storm warning. In the January 2004 ice storm, the National Weather Service reported power out across Florence County. In February 2014, Winter Storm Pax cut power to about 144,000 co-op members, most in the Midlands and Pee Dee. Most got power back in about eight days.
If you use a portable generator, follow this safety advice from CDC, FEMA and Duke Energy:
- Run it outdoors only, more than 20 feet from windows, doors and vents.
- Never run it in your home or garage.
- Keep battery carbon monoxide alarms in the house.
- Never connect it directly to your home’s wiring. Use a transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician.
