Common questions about heating and air

Should I repair or replace?

Whether to repair or replace depends on your system’s age, its condition and what the repair would cost. Your tech quotes the repair and, if replacement makes more sense, says so and shows you options. You decide.

How long does a replacement take?

How long a replacement takes depends on your house and the system you choose. Florence County requires a permit to alter or repair a building, and the City of Florence trade permit form includes mechanical and gas permits.

How hard does Florence weather work your system?

Florence sees about 70 days a year at 90 degrees or higher. Florence Regional Airport hit 100 degrees on July 5 and July 8, 2026.

Heating and cooling needs here are about the same size in a normal year. That’s why one heat pump fits many Florence homes.

Winters are short but real. About 40 nights a year drop to freezing, and in December 2022 Florence saw lows of 14 and 15 degrees. A heat pump needs backup heat for nights like those.

Tree pollen from pine, oak and birch runs high to very high across South Carolina in late March, and weed pollen peaks from late summer into early fall. Humidity is the other half. Damp air feeds mold. We can check your filter and your air. Indoor air quality
