Quality Service Company, LLC installs and repairs ductless mini-splits for homes in Florence, SC. A mini-split heats and cools a room that your ductwork doesn’t reach.
Your tech checks the room and its electrical supply before recommending equipment.
What does Florence weather ask of a mini-split?
Florence summers are long and hot, and the winters are short but real. Here is a normal year at Florence Regional Airport (NOAA 1991–2020 normals):
- A July average high of 92.0 degrees and an average low of 72.4
- An average of 70.2 days a year at 90 degrees or higher
- 40 nights a year at 32 degrees or lower
Over a year, Florence needs about as much heating as cooling (NOAA 1991–2020 normals). A heat pump mini-split can cover both with one system.
Cold snaps still happen. Florence saw a low of 15 degrees on December 24, 2022, and 14 on December 26. Your tech will check how a system heats on nights like those.
Sizing matters too. An oversized unit can cool fast, shut off and leave the room damp.
Which rooms are a good fit for a mini-split?
A room that runs hot or cold is hard on whoever sleeps there. A bonus room over the garage on a 92-degree afternoon, or a converted garage on a 15-degree night, needs its own heat and cooling.
- Additions, bonus rooms and converted garages
- Older homes with no ductwork
- Rooms that are always hotter or colder than the rest of the house
- Workshops, home offices and in-law suites
Older homes are common here. In the City of Florence, 46.7 percent of homes were built before 1980 (Census ACS 2020–2024). Your tech will check whether ducts or a mini-split fits your house better.
What does Quality Service Company do for mini-splits?
We size, install, repair and maintain single-zone and multi-zone mini-splits. We’re an authorized Samsung dealer. See Samsung mini-splits for the systems we install.
Here is how a new mini-split install goes:
- Your tech measures the room and finds where it gains and loses heat.
- Your tech checks the electrical panel and the circuit the system will need.
- We install the indoor heads and the outdoor unit.
If the panel needs work first, your tech will tell you before anything starts. We handle that work too.
HVAC, plumbing, electrical and generators. One company, one number.

Common questions about mini-splits
Can one outdoor unit serve several rooms?
Yes, one outdoor unit can serve several rooms with a multi-zone mini-split. Each room gets its own indoor head, run from the same outdoor unit. How many heads one outdoor unit can carry depends on the model and the rooms. Your tech will size it room by room before recommending equipment.
Are mini-splits noisy?
Mini-split indoor units are quieter than a window unit and most central systems. Most of the sound comes from the outdoor unit. Before work starts, your tech will go over where each part will go, so you can plan around bedrooms and porches.
